Level 4 - Robotics & Aerial Drone

Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 PM CST

Hands-on projects using the VEX Robotics platform and Aerial Drone programs.

Robotics and Aerial Drone programming are gaining momentum in the educational arena worldwide. Our curriculum is highly conducive to students with diverse learning styles by helping them explore math, science, and logic through hands-on activities with real-world connections. The course will help students develop critical thinking skills, engage with STEM concepts, and practice engineering design.

The Drone programming course will provide an opportunity to learn about the engineering principles, basic safety, and social responsibility of drone flying.

Course Goals:

  • Apply mechanical design principles to design and build with motors, gears, and sensors
  • Explore torque, gear ratios, and efficient motion for optimal performance
  • Develop algorithms for navigation for autonomous robots
  • Program robots for movement and to respond to sensors
  • Apply the engineering design process to improve function and reliability
  • Understand how to debug and troubleshoot programs
  • Prepare students for robotics competitions
  • Build leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
